National Council
for Hotel Management & Catering Technology
National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology is
an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of
India. The Council centrally regulates academics for
hospitality and hotel administration and other eleven
structured courses of studies that are imparted at the
existing 21Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 5 State
Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management, 4 Private Institutes of
Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT and 6 Food Craft
Institutes located in different parts of the country. All
Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula
prescribed by the Council for the different professional
programmes.
The Bachelor of Science programme in Hospitality and Hotel
Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for
Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open
University. The Three-Year programme equips students with all
the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently
discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality
sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work
for students to acquire required knowledge and skills
standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food
and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping
and providing managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food
Safety and Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility
Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism
Marketing and Tourism Management.

Reservation for Kashmiri Migrant
(Subject to notification from Ministry of HRD for academic
session 2008-2009)
One seat (Supernumerary) in each
affiliated IHM is provided for Registered Kashmiri Migrants.
Such applicants shall have to qualify the JEE-2008. Candidates
registered with different State Govts. should produce proof of
registration in original at the time of Counselling and should
attach an attested copy thereof with the application form.
